RWANDA
about
Immanuel is working with two indigenous pastors in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. In 1994, centuries-old animosities between the largest tribes, the Hutus and Tutsis, led to genocide that killed over 1 million people in this small country. While considered a Christian nation, few Rwandans have a personal relationship with Jesus. The two pastors, Joel and Samuel, have dedicated their lives to proclaiming Christ through church planting and working with students to address tribal conflicts that tend to lie just below the surface in society.
Through our relationship with these two pastors, Immanuel will be helping to promote reconciliation through Christ-centered student leadership training, Bible teaching, assisting fledgling church plants, and equipping their congregations to meet the spiritual and physical health needs of their communities.
